Elm Lab launched just three weeks ago with a simple promise, to create skincare that’s safe, effective and genuinely gentle, starting with the most delicate skin of all. Families are already using our products not just on their babies but on themselves. This doesn’t surprise us. We’ve always known the benefits of colostrum on sensitive skin and every formula has been carefully tested to reflect that.
Each Elm Lab product is dermatologically patch tested on human volunteers with sensitive skin. In clinical testing under EU cosmetic safety standards, our formulas were certified as non-irritant, confirming they’re safe and gentle enough for even the most reactive skin. We never test on animals and every product is designed for real-world use, not just lab conditions.
For our baby range, we go further. Our Baby Wash and Baby Lotion underwent independent safety assessments under EU Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009, followed by a 3-week extended-use study supervised by both a dermatologist and paediatrician. All participants had sensitive skin and no signs of irritation or discomfort were reported. These results confirmed suitability for all types of body skin, including adult skin.
I’ve been using our Baby Wash on my own skin for months. It always leaves me feeling clean and nourished without irritation. Since moving back to the farm a few years ago, I’ve struggled with dandruff, so when I ran out of my usual salon shampoo recently, I figured it’s been lovely on my skin so why not try it on my hair. Within a couple of weeks, it noticeably reduced flaking and calmed my scalp. I’ve kept using it since and it’s now our go-to shampoo for the kids and me. While we don’t market it as a shampoo, it’s been a gentle, effective alternative for my own hair and scalp.
I also use our Baby Lotion as my daily moisturiser, on my face, arms and legs. I love the feeling post-shower of applying it and how my skin feels so soft and velvety afterwards. It’s become a quiet little ritual I genuinely look forward to.
